Last week saw the return of a much-loved annual event at Birchwood Park, as 3D 360 and the South Lancs Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) hosted their film night in The Generator at the Engine Rooms, and what a night it was.
With a full house and a great buzz of community spirit, this year’s screening of Wonka (2023) proved to be a perfect choice. The musical fantasy’s message of creativity and kindness struck a chord with the audience, while guests enjoyed complimentary drinks, cinema snacks and free parking, all in support of a vital cause.
The event raised over £750 for the South Lancs Branch of the MND Association making a cumulative total of over £5,000 from the event over the past years, helping to fund research and support for people living with motor neurone disease.
As part of the MNDA’s Global Awareness Day, buildings across Birchwood Park were lit up in the association’s blue and orange colour scheme, creating a striking visual tribute. Using drones from 3D 360s training programmes the moment was dynamically captured on camera.
Representatives from 3D 360 were also on hand to showcase their funded Advanced Manufacturing Skills Bootcamps, chat with attendees and give away a selection of fun 3D printed fidget items, always a hit with children and adults alike!
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support from 3D 360 and Birchwood Park once again this year,” said Cris Hoskin (Chair of the South Lancs Branch of the MNDA. “Events like this not only raise funds but also raise awareness. Seeing the venue filled with people who care makes a real difference.”
3D 360 Directors, Paul Bullock and Lee Fogg both serve on the Committee of the South Lancs Branch of the MNDA. Speaking on behalf of 3D 360, Paul added:
“This event means a great deal to our team. Several of us including myself have family and friends who’ve been personally affected by MND, so supporting the charity’s work is close to our hearts. We’re proud to see the event growing each year and the generosity of our local community continues to amaze us.”
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated and helped make this a memorable evening. We look forward to welcoming you again next year.
