MNDA branded rugby boots signed by Kevin Sinfield are finding a new home at 3D 360, keeping motor neurone disease front of mind in both Leigh and Whitehaven.
At a recent South Lancs Branch of the MND Association (MNDA) Winter Charity Ball, 3D 360 were lucky enough to win something very special at the auction, one of only 574 pairs of @Oxen Limited Edition of MND Association rugby boots in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and, in particular, the South Lancs branch in which the company provide support.
Kevin Sinfield retired from professional rugby in 2016 but remains heavily involved in the sport as a respected coach for the England Rugby Union team and legendary fundraiser for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in honour of his late teammate Rob Burrow with a public focus on supporting the MND community.
Huge thanks to Nigel Wood OBE, Chair of Rugby League, for bringing them along to our South Lancs branch annual Christmas ball.
The boots are limited edition and are one of only 574 pairs produced and, unlike the usual releases, this pair was signed by Kevin specifically to support fundraising for the South Lancs branch. That makes them pretty special to us on a personal level, especially as several of the 3D 360 team are long standing supporters of the MNDA South Lancashire branch.
We will be displaying one boot in our 3D 360 office and training centre at da Vinci House in Leigh, Greater Manchester and the other in our 3D 360 Skills Centre at Lowther House in Whitehaven, Cumbria. They will act as a permanent awareness piece for MND and a way to start conversations with colleagues, learners and visitors about the work of MNDA and the people it supports.
There is also a nice full circle moment for us. 3D 360 directors, Lee and Paul first met years ago while helping with MNDA fundraising, before 3D 360 existed. That experience still shapes how we operate today, values first, people first and action over talk in line with our social value commitments.
If you are not familiar with motor neurone disease or the work of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, please take a couple of minutes to look them up It matters.
