Matt is part of the Training and Technical team at 3D360, and his role covers much ground. On any given day he might be delivering training, writing new course content, working through compliance checks or getting hands-on installing the latest IT or cyber tools. It’s a role that demands someone equally comfortable in front of a group of learners and underneath a server rack, and Matt H is both.
What makes his story a little different is that 3D360 is the only employer he has ever had. He joined straight from high school through an apprenticeship, spending four years building the foundations of everything he does now. The first half covered engineering, giving him the technical grounding that runs through all of his work. The second half focused on teaching, earning him the qualifications to stand up and deliver training in his own right.
That combination of knowing the subject deeply and knowing how to communicate it is what he brings to the team every day. For Matt, the best part of the job is passing on knowledge and enthusiasm to others, and watching that land.
Outside of work he plays guitar in a band, which accounts for most of his spare time. He’s also a car enthusiast, spending time maintaining his own car and attending shows, and has an interest in airsoft.
He volunteers behind the bar at his local music venue, which runs SEN groups, and does what he can to support the wider music community and inspire young people to get involved.
And in a detail that tells you something about his taste in cars, he has driven both a Ford GT40 and an AC Cobra. He also survived both, which he considers a bonus.
